a campaign to remove offensive rhetoric from the Pax Centurion newsletter
The Boston Police Patrolmen’s Association, Inc. (est. 1984) calls itself the “Nation’s First Police Department,” so maybe we should give them the benefit of the doubt when it comes to their union’s consistently offensive newsletter, Pax Centurion. Maybe it’s really a postmodern art project/bingo game in which readers can win if they correctly identify all of the groups targeted each month.
Take the most recent issue. Misogyny? Check! Homophobia? Check! Islamophobia? Xenophobia? A defense of racial profiling, just for good measure? Check, check, and check again.
